The first quarter of 2022 marked an important period for Tanmiah Food Company as the latter has strived to shed light on its new sustainability strategy and pivotal role in the Saudi and regional poultry industry.
Among Tanmiah’s key activities for March 2022 was a Diamond Sponsorship for The Middle East Poultry Expo 2022, the first specialized poultry event of scale in the Middle East meant to foster commercial and scientific exchange between international and local stakeholders.
Held from March 14 to March 16 in Riyadh, under the patronage of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture H.E. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, the event revolved around one main theme: “Contribution to Enhancing Food Security”. Overall, 150 leading and startup companies from 30 countries in various sectors of the poultry industry partook in the event, with Tanmiah occupying a massive 92SQM stand, which was among the exhibition’s main highlights.
Concurrently with the exhibition, the World's Poultry Science Association held the first Middle East & North Africa Poultry Conference under the theme “Poultry Production under High Environmental Conditions”, which attracted more than 60 international speakers and experts from more than 11 countries, presenting 66 scientific research pieces and workshops.
As Diamond Sponsor, Tanmiah was given an exclusive opportunity to be a key speaker at the conference. In his speech, Tanmiah’s Managing Director, Mr. Ahmad Osilan, tackled Saudi Arabia’s food security in the poultry sector. He also spoke about the company’s premium products which have earned Tanmiah the BRC Food Safety Award and the Aviagen Ross 140 and 400 Club Award, and turned it into the supplier of choice for leading international QSR brands like McDonalds, Burger King, Popeye’s, Chilies, Papa Johns, and others. The key speaker also mentioned Tanmiah’s latest developments on the sustainability front, including the company’s adoption of a circular economy model and the 1-Million-Tree plantation initiative by 2025.
Moreover, The MENA Poultry Conference was an ideal setting to announce the five finalists of the 2020 Omnipreneurship Awards’ 1-million-dollar Sustainability Challenge, which required participants to find sustainable solutions to poultry waste by converting the latter into value.
